Supercar Rhino Run – Terms & Conditions

    1. 1. Participation Categories & Requirements

      1.1 Drivers

      • Must own and operate a registered supercar, sports car, or performance vehicle approved by the organisers.

         

      • Must hold a valid driver’s licence; vehicle must be roadworthy, licensed, and insured.

         

      • Must complete registration and pay the R300 non-refundable entry fee.

         

      • Must adhere to all road laws, speed limits, and marshal instructions throughout the event.

         

      1.2 Public Attendees

      • Attendance at public viewing points is free and open to all.

         

      • Spectators must remain in designated areas and follow safety guidelines provided by marshals and signage.

         

      • Children must be supervised at all times.

         

      1.3 Schools & Organisations

      • Participation is free; however, donations of long-life, fat-free milk or financial contributions to the Ferris Hope Foundation NPC are encouraged.

         

      • Must submit an official registration form and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

         

      • Are responsible for the care, supervision, behaviour, and wellbeing of all participants (including learners and staff) involved in any activity related to the event.

         

      • Must ensure all appropriate internal policies and parental permissions (where applicable) are in place for participation.

         

      1.4 Sponsors & Partners

      • Must enter into a formal agreement with the event organisers outlining the scope of sponsorship, promotional rights, and any deliverables.

         

      • Sponsorship benefits are provided at the organisers’ discretion and may be modified in the event of logistical or safety changes.

         

      • Sponsors agree to indemnify the organisers against reputational or operational claims arising from their participation.

         

      2. Safety & Conduct

      • All participants must conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the spirit and safety of the event.

         

      • Dangerous or reckless behaviour, including racing, stunts, or excessive speeding, is strictly prohibited and may result in removal from the event without refund.

         

      • Any behaviour deemed harmful to the event’s reputation or safety will result in immediate removal without refund and potential exclusion from future events.

         

      3. Indemnity & Limitation of Liability

      • By participating, all entrants voluntarily accept the risks associated with the event, including but not limited to damage, injury, or third-party claims.

         

      • Participants acknowledge that the Supercar Rhino Run involves the operation of high-performance supercars on public roads and may carry inherent risks. They assume full personal responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage arising from their voluntary involvement in the event.

         

      • Participants release and indemnify Ferris Cars, Ferris Hope Foundation NPC, Rhino Connect, Blue Velvet Events, and all event partners, sponsors, organisers, affiliates, employees, contractors, and associated entities (“the Released Parties”) from any and all liability for loss, damage, injury, or death resulting from or in connection with the event, regardless of cause, including negligence.

         

      • This indemnity includes, but is not limited to, claims made by third parties arising from a participant’s actions, vehicle, or conduct during the event.
      • Participants agree to indemnify the organisers against any legal fees, costs, or expenses incurred in the defence of claims arising from their participation.
      • This indemnity extends to all claims, demands, and proceedings of any kind.

      4. Donations & Contributions

      • Only donations of long-life, fat-free milk are accepted for rhino orphans. Donations not meeting these criteria may be declined.

         

      • A pallet of milk is valued at R15,000. Cash donations towards pallets or general rhino support are facilitated by the Ferris Hope Foundation NPC and may qualify for Section 18A tax certificates.

         

      • The organisers are not liable for any loss, damage, or misplacement of physical milk donations during collection or delivery.

         

      • Sponsors and donors acknowledge that their contributions may be publicly acknowledged and agree to this usage unless explicitly requested otherwise in writing.

         

      5. Media Consent & Use

      • Photography and videography will take place throughout the Supercar Rhino Run.

         

      • By participating in the event, you grant permission for any images and footage captured to be used by the event organisers, Ferris, the Ferris Hope Foundation NPC, and sponsors for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, marketing materials, and future event publicity.

         

      • Your participation implies consent to appear in such content without compensation or additional approvals.

         

      • The event is held in public spaces where spectators, including minors, will be present. While reasonable care is taken, participants acknowledge and accept that they may be filmed or photographed alongside members of the public, and the organisers are not liable for any claims arising from public exposure.

         

      6. Registration & Cancellation

      • Participation is confirmed only once full registration is completed and the R300 registration fee is paid.

         

      • The registration fee is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organisers.

         

      • In the event of bad weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances beyond the organisers’ control, the organisers reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the event without obligation for compensation.

         

      7. General Provisions

      • The Supercar Rhino Run is a charity-driven public event. While the organisers endeavour to provide a safe and enjoyable experience, they make no guarantees regarding uninterrupted access to event activities or routes.

         

      • Participants are expected to uphold the reputation of the Supercar Rhino Run and its charitable mission by conducting themselves respectfully towards spectators, fellow drivers, event staff, and the general public.

         

      • These Terms & Conditions may be accepted electronically and shall carry full legal force and effect in accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
      • Any disputes arising from participation in the event shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

           8. Data Protection (POPIA Compliance)

      • By participating in this event, you consent to the organisers lawfully collecting, processing, storing, and transferring your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), as required for registration, event communications, and record-keeping purposes.
